Springwater Cruise Run
The annual Springwater Cruise Run on February 18 is a great way to keep going in the "off season". 10K Run or 4 Mile Walk on the Springwater Corridor. This path is a converted railroad bed, nearly dead flat with scenic views. The area is a wilderness refuge, so you're bound to spot wildlife - heron and many other birds, in particular.

More Running Tips
Run barefoot
Taking off your shoes to run can help you relax. It also makes for smoother, faster running.
Run every other day for 10 minutes
Running every other day for as little as 10 minutes will maintain most of your physical and aerobic conditioning. But don't just jog, add a few pickups. Afterwards, you'll be more energized and better able to face a demanding day.
Don’t rush things
Let your body dictate your training before you increase your training. If you don't, you may not be strong enough to handle the load, resulting in a training injury or poor performance on race day.
Look ahead and scan the horizon
How you hold your head is the key to your overall postures, which efficiently determines how you run. Look ahead and scan the horizon. This will straighten you neck and back and bring them into alignment. Keep your chin slightly tucked in toward your chest and keep your jaw and facial muscles relaxed.
Think legs, not lungs
Run really fast, but stop before you get really tired. For example, run hard uphill for 10 seconds, stopping before fatigue sets in and before lack of oxygen forces you to go anaerobic.
