Deschutes Dash | July 19 - 20 - Bend, OR
July 16, 2008
Get your family and friends to come and watch you kick some butt at this very spectator friendly venue. The Deschutes Dash will include a full weekend of activities, including an Olympic Tri and Du, a Sprint Tri and Du, a 10k and 5k run, and a Kid's Splash 'n Dash. All of these races are fundraisers for the Working Wonders Children's Museum, which provides hands-on learning experiences that are critical to childhood development.
If you are planning on participating in the Triathlon, get ready for a unique, down current swim in the beautiful Deschutes River. (Wetsuits are recommended.) The bike course is an out and back course with a slight incline on the way out and a slight descent on the way back. When it's time for the run, you'll be on a combination surface of paved and packed dirt. The good news is that there is virtually no elevation gain. Overall, this is an awesome course for athletes of all levels. Remember those friends and family that came to watch you? The festive post-race party is a chance for everyone to hang out with great food, free beer, and live music. Who wouldn't want to spend the weekend doing just that?
