Beating the Boredom
August 19, 2008
If you're planning on running the Portland Marathon in October, you're probably a little over half way into your training. And if you're like me and training by yourself, you might be starting to get a little bored. I've found the motivation needed to fit in all those workout sessions is slowly starting to dwindle. No need to worry, as there are a variety of running groups in town to hook up with for some weekly runs. Not only will you meet some new runners, but I've also found that I tend to work a little bit harder when running with others... you don't want to be the one in last, do you?
- Portland Marathon Clinic: Weekend run longs with pace setters. See where you are at with your goal pace.
- Team Red Lizard: Weekly runs including track workouts, hills, and a pub run!
- Nike Running Club: Meets Mondays and Fridays at 5:45 pm at Niketown. Choose from 3, 5, or 7 mile routes with some post run refreshments.
- ORRC: Tuesday night training runs with a variety of workouts.
