Green Feet

As a Portlander, we pride ourselves on our eco-friendly lifestyle. Especially nowadays, the idea of being "green" is pretty much integrated into every aspect of our lives. What about our running? As runners, we assume that the simplicity of the sport means we aren't really affecting the environment. It's a little more complicated than that, though. Think about when you drive to group workouts or fly to races. Or what about all that technical gear that is made overseas? And how many of you are actually recycling all those old pairs of running shoes? (On a side note, you can bring your worn out shoes to any Nike or Fit Right NW store and they will take care of the rest.) Well, even though running is still a relatively low-impact sport compared to others, there are some things you can do to even further reduce your carbon footprint.
