October 8, 2008

October can be a beautiful time to run or walk in Oregon, and this weekend should be no exception at the 34th Annual Blue Lake Runs in Troutdale. This is an event designed for the whole family to enjoy as you can choose from a 15k Run/Walk, a 5k Run/Walk, and a Kid's 1k Fun Run. The races take place in the scenic Blue Lake Park underneath a canopy of autumn-colored trees. The out-and-back courses are flat and fast making it easy for runners and walkers of all abilities.

After you've finished running, make sure to enjoy the post-race festivities complete with grilled hot dogs, cookies, drinks and other goodies. Ribbons will be awarded to the top six finishers in all ORRC five-year age groups (to 80 & up) in both running events and also to the top six male and top six female fitness walkers in the 5K Walk. Even if you don't get a ribbon, all participants receive a free t-shirt and a coupon for a FREE pair of running gloves! Register online up until the 9th or on site the day of.
