The only road mile race in the region is back for it's 5th year! Presented by the Eugene Running Company, the Eugene Challenge Mile offers something for everyone, from the elite to the casual runners of all ages. The downtown course is flat, fast, and spectator friendly. Runners will start at 5th & Pearl, proceed west to Charnelton, north to 4th Street, west to Lawrence, south to 5th Street and return to the finish at 5th & Pearl. (See course map here.)
New this year, the event will feature various waves for all ages and abilities. The Men's and Women's Open races are open to everyone and will also feature elite runners. The Recreational division is intended for the less-competitive runners and walkers accepting the challenge of participating in a road mile. The Youth race is open to all competitors ages 18 and under, and the Masters race is open to all participants 40 and over. There is even a FREE kid's 200m fun run!
Registration is open online or you can register in person at the Eugene Running Company (116 Oakway Center), through Friday, June 5 at 6pm, and on race day from 8:00am to 9:15am. Entry fees range from $15 - $25 depending on when you register and if you want a t-shirt. This event also benefits Committed Partners for Youth.
